Book your check-up
Look after your ongoing oral health with regular check-ups at Crescent Dental.

The importance of regular dental check-ups
We're firm believers that prevention and early treatment are the secret ingredients to maintaining your family's oral health for life.
With regular dental check-ups, we not only keep an eye on your oral health but also catch any potential issues like damage or decay before they escalate, keeping the need for further or more extensive dental treatment to a minimum.
And during your check-up we can reinforce good oral hygiene habits, that when combined with regular dental hygiene treatments, help maintain a healthy smile for a lifetime.

What happens at a dental check-up?
During your dental check-up, our dentist takes a thorough look at your teeth, gums, and soft tissues, looking out for any signs of problems such as swelling or decay. We will also conduct an oral cancer screening for your peace of mind.
We may take small X-rays to help uncover any underlying dental issues. Depending on the results of this assessment, your dentist may suggest a tailored treatment plan to restore your oral health, or simply book you in for your next routine check-up!
Your dental check-up includes:
Your new patient consultation in 5 steps.
Your first appointment at Crescent Dental is more than just a check-up; it's an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for your dentist to learn about your oral health needs and smile goals.
By the end of your appointment, you'll have a clear plan for your ongoing dental care. We're here to ensure you feel informed and supported every step of the way.

Our friendly reception team will greet you and help you complete some paperwork, including details of your medical history.
You'll meet with the dentist, who will discuss your dental concerns, medical history, and any symptoms you may be experiencing. This is also an opportunity for you to ask questions or concerns.
Your dentist will carry out a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, and oral tissues. They’ll check for cavities, signs of gum disease, and other oral health issues. They will also carry out an oral cancer screening.
If necessary, your dentist may recommend taking dental X-rays or a 3D imaging scan to get a more detailed view of your teeth and gums. These images can help identify any hidden problems that may not be visible during the physical exam.
Based on the findings from the examination and any diagnostic tests, your dentist will create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. This plan may include preventive care, such as dental hygiene treatment, as well as any necessary restorative or cosmetic procedures.
Oral cancer screening
Oral cancer can develop in various areas of the mouth and the earlier it is detected, the better. Mouth cancer screening is an essential part of your dental check-up at Crescent Dental.
This screening involves a comprehensive review of your oral health history, a thorough examination of your mouth, and a detailed scan to identify any lumps or lesions, helping to detect any signs of trouble early.

Dental check-ups for all the family
As a family-focused dental practice, our dentists are experienced at looking after the oral health of patients of all ages, including young children. Our team is here to put your little ones at ease by creating a relaxed and friendly environment - making a trip to the dentist something to (almost) look forward to!
We accept patients from birth and encourage parents to bring their children from an early age so we can ensure they are developing well and we can detect any future potential problems, as well as help children become familiar with the clinical environment.
